  • Hello and thank you for your post.

This must be a worry for you so I am sorry to hear you going through this.

What will happen when you get the results will depend on what is found. It might be good to have someone with you.

If you find out you do not have cancer you are likely to be discharged.

If you are found to have cancer you will be told what type of cancer it is, with more information about the cancer.  You may also get information about how they wish to treat you.

If you do find out you have cancer there will be a lot of information to take in. You will be given time to ask questions and may be given some written information about your cancer and the treatment that is recommended.

Breast Cancer Care has information about the results ( if are told you have cancer) and what it all means, you can see this on their website  here.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,
