Hello , I have read up on Tamoxifen ,and it does look as if there is a gel available. I would have a chat with your oncologist and see what they say and whether it is as effective as the oral one .xxx

There is an oral solution but I am not aware of Tamoxifen being available in the UK in gel form. There have been some more recent pharmaceutical studies in various other countries, looking at this method of use.

This is not an area of further drug development that Cancer Research UK does. Unfortunately, we are not pharmacists, as this is a nurse led service, and don't have easy access to them at the charity. Your hospital Trust Lead pharmacist may be able to advise you on this. I am not aware of specific private blood testing regarding this. The Electronic Medicines Compendium lists all the producers of Tamoxifen, as it is off patent, so has various companies producing it.
