Night sweats

Wondering if I should go to GP or oncology team

  • Hello Raymungo and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing night sweats. There could be several reasons for these so it is best getting checked out by your doctor.

If you are currently on treatment it could be a side effect of this so if you have a specialist nurse do get in touch with them and see what they have to say.

If however you aren't on treatment at the moment and under the care of your GP then arrange an appointment with them.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes

    Naomi

  • Hello Raymungo ,as Naomi has stated ,its probably best to have a chat with your medical team .
I had terrible menopausal night sweats and went on to take HRT ,unfortunately I had to come off that when I was diagnosed with breast cancer which was being fed by hormones. I now take Letrezole, which suppresses hormones. Again this causes sweats again. If you are on any new medication or treatment check if this is a side effect  Keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on

  • Hi. It’s definitely not menopause as I’m past that. I’m worried about metastatic liver cancer. I’m not on any treatment currently but am monitored. Think I need to speak to oncologist.
    thanx
