Hello
I have recently had LLETZ on CIN 2 cells. It wasn’t the nicest, the consultant said he didn’t think it looked cancerous which made me even more anxious. What results could come back from the Biopsy taken?

Hello KW2023x and thanks for posting
It is natural to feel a little unsettled when undergoing tests and treatment for abnormal cells but try not to overly worry.
Remember cervical screening is all about picking up an abnormality at an early stage where it can be monitored or treated (removed) to prevent cervical cancer.
Abnormal cells in the cervix such as CIN aren't cancer but rather pre cancerous cells that if left over time may turn into cancer.
When people with a cervix attend for regular screening and any follow up appointments the risk of picking up cancer itself is rare. If and when this does happen this is often caught at an early stage where it can be successfully treated.
It is a matter of sitting and waiting for the results now I'm afraid so keep yourself busy and your mind on other things. It does sound like the doctor who carried out the LLETZ wasn't overly concerned with what they could see which you should take as reassuring and don't forget the abnormal areas have been removed.
Take care
Naomi
