MDT meeting outcomes

Hi all

I got a call today from the hospital regarding my MDT meeting's outcome. The lady said that I will need to repeat my MRI in the next 6 months. It sounds great to me as I believe that this isthe best outcome I can expect when they suspected I might have a cancer. Please, am I right about it?

The letter to explain everything in detail is still on the way to me and I couldn't find anything relevant on Google...

Thanks a lot

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

Without being involved in your care it is very difficult to comment on this decision. I do think however if they felt that you needed further investigations then they would have suggested them. Any decisions when someone has a suspected cancer is discussed at a multidisciplinary team meeting where all the doctors involved in assessing your case are present. It is not just one person who is making this decision.

I would stay away from google which is so general and will not help.

If you have any concerns about the decision that was made then do chat to your GP. They will have received a follow up letter from the hospital explaining the decision to re scan you in 6 months.

I hope this helps. Hopefully the letter that you receive will make this clearer to you. You are very welcome to ring and discuss any of this with one of the helpline nurses. our number is freephone 0808 800 4040 and we are here Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
