Hi I see you posted this in Ask the nurses ,the nurses won't be back until Monday but hopefully others will see your post and be able to answer your question about CT scan ,I would have thought it would be the normal procedure to have a scan after they found a tumour so that they can see what's going on ,I'm sure I've heard of others having CT  scan afterwards .

I would post it in  Pre-Diagnosis Signs and Symptoms but leave the post in Ask the nurses as they will see it on Monday ,in the mean time read the newest posts the  one that says Positive Fit test and Colonoscopy results and at the bottom of the conversation you can join in by asking your question in there ,they're lovely people all with problems concerning colonoscopies Fit tests CT scans etc ,I've written on there because I had a positive fit test last year ,that post has a lot of comments which might be interesting to you if you can't find it just let me know x

I think mine was just a comment on that post because I'd been through the process of having a Colonoscopy and yes everything turned out to be fine it was something not serious causing my symptoms .

I am sorry to hear about your husbands situation and appreciate this must be an anxious time for you both.

It isn't unusual for doctors to want to request a series of tests to diagnose a cancer, including some type of imaging scan. This helps not only determine the stage of the cancer (size and extent) but this can also helps to guide treatment decisions, including surgery.

Following my colonoscopy, I had a CT scan and MRI scan. I think it was to get an idea on the size. It hadn’t spread though. I then had an op and am currently having chemo. It all happened very quickly. I hope this helps, I know that I just wanted answers when I was where your husband is now. I googled everything! Everything started in April this year and I’m nearly at the end of my chemo. It’s been a whirlwind of a year but maybe that’s a good thing? I hope everything goes as well as possible for your husband and that the hospital are great. Try not to fret too much, I know how difficult that is though! Best of luck.
