I am sorry to here about your friend. I can understand you want to do all you can to help them.

Everyone's cancer is so very different and doctors take a much more personalised view in deciding what treatment a patient can or cannot have. Many more tests are done on biopsies. We don't have doctors here who can give a medical opinion but I do suggest that your friend talks through their options with their team  and maybe consider getting a second opinion.

Talking to their team is their best option. They have all their scans and have all the information on their type of bowel cancer.

There maybe also the option of a clinical trial. We have a database that lists trials that we are aware of and have permission to put on our website but we are not involved in recruiting patients on to trials. Trials are not always straightforward and they usually have strict entry requirements but this may be something that your friend may consider if their doctor thought that there was a suitable trial.

In order to enter a trial your friend would need to be referred by their doctor to the doctor where the trial was taking place.
