Lletz procedure

Hi  i had the lletz procedure 10!days ago and iv been ok , but yesterday iv started with a swollen tummy , lower back pain and red bleeding changing frequently ….I was diagnosed with precancerous cells and type 3 transformation what ever that means . Is this normal or do I contact my gp

thanks. Tracey perrier

  • Hi Tracey

I am not a nurse and I know that this is in the ask a nurse section, but just in case they dont get to this until later tomorrow, I would contact your gp in the morning.  I had a similar procedure many years ago and developed a pelvic infection afterwards, if it is that it is easily sorted out with antibiotics, but it shouldnt be left otherwise its a lot harder to clear up.

  • Hi Annie

thankyou for this I will contact my gp as I’m feeling not well like sickly to ….the pain won’t ease in my tummy and pelvis area ….
was hoping it was normal but after 10 days to start with this seems not normal

    regards

    Tracey

  • My infection started about 4 days after the procedure, started with general sore stomach, then became very swollen, pain in lower back, i tried ignoring it, ended up with temp and feeling sick.  I left it too long and ended up with 2 courses of antibiotics, before it cleared up.

Hope that the doctor can sort it out quickly for you.

    Regards

    Annie

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

You do need to make prompt contact with the colposcopy unit, or else your GP. You may have an infection, or a small area that is still bleeding a little.

You can ring NHS 111 also for further medical advice, out of hours.

Unfortunately, this forum is not the best place to seek urgent medical advice.

I hope that you get this sorted out soon,

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
