Lightheadedness

I've been suffering from anemia for several years but only identified since April despite yearly blood tests. Problem is us not iron, B12 or folate related so doing tests for aplastic anemia etc but I'm suffering as expected from breathless  and lightheadedness. This has been getting worse but not all the time despite doing some housework today. Just had that conversation with husband re finance if its the worst and its suddenly got worse. Had convinced my self I'm not worried because I don't feel stressed but could I be. Sorry if this is a stupid question. As I've not actually been diagnosed. Xx

  • Dear Derma and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear you are anaemic and are having further tests to find out more.

Unfortunately no one here can say what is going on, although the symptoms you are describing are common with anaemia as you know.

Do speak with your doctor when you can if you feel the symptoms are worsening in case they can speed the tests up.

I hope you know more soon and that everything will be okay for you.

Easier said than done but try not to worry or over think things until you know the whole picture.

    Best wishes

    Naomi

  • Thank you for your reply. My bonemarrow test has apparently been forwarded on to Bristol and I am being told to expect them at the end of the month which will be just over a month instead of the normal 10 days. I was initially told that the cancer centre at my hospital is very busy before they looked at my records. How long is too long. I worry that I've fallen back into the black hole of some one not looking at my results as has occurred before. How long is too long.
