Immunotherapy

After my breast CA treatment with chemo and surgery, am now cancer free, however they want me to have Immunotherapy, am just worried about this , please help me understand this

  • Thank God you are cancer free now that is a Blessing ,I'm sure the nurses will see your post and explain more about Immunotherapy and hopefully others who have had this treatment  will be able to give their experience of having it .

  • Hello and thank you for posting,

I'm sorry you are worried about the immunotherapy discussed with you by your team as the next phase of your treatment.

Do have a look at our immunotherapy in breast cancer page which may be helpful here.

As Jenny has said, others on the forum may come forward with their own experiences of having this treatment. Particularly if you move this post into the newly diagnosed category as that covers people going through treatment.

The whole experience of cancer and its treatments can be overwhelming to cope with on many different levels. Here is some advice from the UK breast charity Breast Cancer Now on how to cope emotionally.

I hope this has been helpful. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Sarah.
