Blood tests and lump

Hi

I have posted previously as I’m awaiting my appointment at the breast clinic which is tomorrow.

in January I was referred to the breast clinic for a lump in my right breast. After ultrasound, FNA and core biopsy I was found to have a fibroadenoma. No further treatment.

in August I had my bloods down due to ongoing tiredness. I wasn’t sure if I should have been feeling so tired as I am a busy mum of 2 children working full time. My bloods were flagged for low folate and elevated C reactive protein. There was something else but I can’t remember what it was. I was out on 4 months of folate supplements and told to take a very good multivitamin.

I went back to the gp 2 weeks ago as I found another lump that I’d monitored for 5 weeks but it never disappeared so I went to get it checked. This time it was in my left breast and just before my appointment I found a very small one at the side of my breast too. On examination the gp found another that she described as large had lump at the top of my breast.

I never see the same doctor, there are new ones every time and other than this last 10 months it’s rare I would go. The blood results were never mentioned and in all honesty I’ve only just thought about the bloods. What I guess I’m questioning is could the blood results be linked and should I mention these at my breast clinic appointment tomorrow? I don’t want to look over reactive. Also, since my gp appointment I’ve found what I think is a smaller lump at the side of the original fibroadenoma.

Probably over analysing but it is now starting to consume my thoughts again.

thanks in advance x

  • Hello lofty22 and thanks for the post

Undergoing tests is never easy and if you have been here before it is no wonder that your thoughts are getting the better of you.

Try not to over think things too much, sit tight and go for your appointment tomorrow and see what they have to say. Whilst I don't think they are necessarily related you could mention your blood tests if you wanted to and see if they can put your mind at ease about this.

As you know from earlier this year they will assess you in the breast clinic before carrying out some images of the breast and a biopsy if needed to give further information.

I hope everything goes okay for you tomorrow. Try and keep yourself busy and your mind on other things the rest of the day if you can.

Do get back if you need to

    All the best

    Naomi
