I recently had a cervical biopsy and polyp removed, I’ve just got a letter stating we will await histology results.
Is histology a test for cancer please?

It will be the results of the biopsy and the polyp to see if its cancer or benign ,they obviously can't tell until they have been tested ,I had the same last year .
Hello and thank you for your post,
A biopsy is taken and sent to a histopathologist who looks at it under a microscope to see the level of abnormality, while it is uncommon cancer might be found.
It takes a few weeks to get the results. You will then be contacted by the hospital team to have an appointment to discuss the results.
I hope you get the results soon.
Take care
Caroline
