Bladder pain increasing

Hi I have had all my bloods taken and fit test.

All passed but a trace of blood was found in my urine, last Wednesday my gp referred me under the 2 week fast track programs to see what is going on. But I have pain in my. Stomach and in particular right now my bladder that is causing pain that wakes me up. What else can I do, my concern is that the cancer is or has spread already I am losing weight, I also have a very slight dull ache in the bottom off my spine. Can hardly notice it could be something else but it’s there.

should I be going to a and e on the pretense that things are clearly getting worse and I don’t even have my appointment through yet.

thank you

  • Hey so I get terrible bladder spasms when my tumour bleeds.

Our local Urology ward has a rapid access triage clinic you can attend if you ring them first which is very good.

Maybe see if your local hospital does something similar...

  • Hello, and thanks for your post,

I can understand how unsettling it can be waiting for an appointment and an explanation as to why you are having certain symptoms.

I am afraid it is a case of waiting for your fast-track appointment which hopefully you will hear more about soon. It is easy to assume that all your symptoms are connected but this may not be the case so try if you can to not let your mind run away with you.

If your symptoms do get worse then do get in touch with your GP again or contact NHS 111.

I do hope that you hear more soon.

If you would find it helpful to talk things through with one of the helpline nurses then do give us a ring.

Our helpline number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and we are Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
