Hello Orlando ,I didn’t have radiotherapy,but lymph clearance in October last year . Healed well . 
Have you just dabbed it after shower ? Could be just inflammation,but get it looked at .xx

The best person to assess your scar is either your GP or someone from your hospital team. If you have the contact number for a specialist nurse (CNS) do give them a call and let them know whats happened to your wound. It may be fine or it may be that there is some infection there and you need some antibiotics, but they will be able to review you and decide.

Thanks for replying.  GP had a look at scar area and says it doesn’t look like an infection but has said best to speak to BCN team.  Quick call to BCN and have to get wound checked next Tuesday.  

worried about lymph node axilla  clearance, my surgery is schedule for 13/09/23, but i think i might cancel my consent for lymph node clearance, am worried about complications and if there is alternative inside of clearance. please advised me on your experience 

I don’t know how else they can check if lymph nodes are clear f they don’t remove some and test them.  I only had 4 removed and they were all clear.  I might be wrong but I’m sure I read somewhere the under arm lymph nodes are the first ones it can spread to.  You’d be best speaking to your BC nurse.  Good luck xx

Ended up a BC clinic yesterday as scar was leaking.  Turns out it’s an infection so antibiotics, drain in, swabs done and back on Monday to have it checked 

Hi can they not do a sentinel node ?? This is when they inject blue dye that tracts to the nearest lymph node , they remove that and check for cancer . If there is no cancer they don’t remove all the nodes meaning there is less chance of lymphoedema in the future . Please discuss with your breast care nurse/ surgeon x

I had the dye put in and it showed up that not just sentinel node was affected . I had the lymph clearance ,have done all the exercises and massage of the arm . I take care of that arm,try not to do heavy lifting ,massage it still ,wear gloves when gardening not to get cuts or infection .So far ,so good .It’s been a year with me..

Oh I’m sorry to hear that , but glad you’re doing ok now . Did you have to have chemo?
