Inverted nipple

Hi, I’m 53, have had an inverted nipple for over 2 years. Was referred to breast clinic for mammogram and all clear- told it was a blocked milk duct. Had my first routine mammogram 7 months later and again fine. I’ve tried to put it from my mind, but it’s not any better and it now has a white tip and does ache a bit. I don’t want to be a pest to the nhs, but should I go back again?

  • Hi Carrie and thank you for posting.

It is good to know you had two clear mammograms, but I can hear you remain concerned about your nipple, particularly now there is a change.

Anyone who notices any persistent changes do need to get advice from their GP as they are the only people who can assess you. They will be able to review your nipple and decide if further investigation of the breast is needed or not.

Take care Carrie and if you want to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline the number is Freephone 0808 800 4040. The lines are open from 9am till 5pm, Monday to Friday.

    Sarah.
