Bandages

Hi,

My mum has dislocated her shoulder and this is the arm with lymph issues.
she can’t raise her arm and the sleeve seems too lose. Her nurse used a bandage and this helped. Would anyone know how I can get hold of more bandages as the nurses now say they isn’t any more they can do.
grateful for any help.

  • Hi R , thanks for thinking of us . Mum has a L specialist apparently, but they’ve said there’s nothing more that they can do and left her with a sleeve. I’ve read up on a lot and managed to get a ecial bandage with foam , so have bandaged her arm. But worried as I’m no specialist, but the sleeve isn’t doing anything and mum doesn’t want to bother the nurses   ️ ️ ️. Hopefully her arm will go down tonight a bit.
    thanks again

  • That’s a bit disappointing! I thought they might have suggested more massage . See how it goes ,but I would get onto them again if Mum is in discomfort.
    Best wishes R x

  • Hello Mumsdaugher,

I am not sure when the lymphoedema specialist nurse/practitioner said there was nothing more they could do, but it sounds like they don't know about the present circumstances with your mum's dislocated shoulder or that her sleeve doesn't seem to fit well.

Patients often don't want to be a bother and trouble but I think it is reasonable for your mum to try and get some advice from the specialist lymphoedema service that she is already known to. If she is reluctant to get in touch with them, perhaps you could on her behalf.

    Best wishes,

    Julia
