Squamous

Has a recent endometrial biopsy done as I have atypica endometrial hyperplasia so have biopsies every 3 months. I’m waiting on hysterectomy as 40% chance been told have cancer.

In my latest biopsy, they said they found Squamous morules. Gynaecologist give me very little information and has done another biopsy. She said will do plan of action when results come back. She basically said it could be cancer or not. I can’t find much information on the internet or what I do find says cancer.

I have nobody to speak to as lost the nurse number to ask questions. thank you

  • Hello Nattahlee and thanks for posting,

I'm afraid before I read your post I hadn't come across the term squamous morules so I can't tell you much. It seems this is a pathology term that describes cell changes in skin like cells in the endometrium (womb lining) which is mostly made up of glandular cells.  From what I have found searching on the internet, squamous morules can be found in endometrial hyperplasia as well as endometrial cancer. This is probably why your gynaecologist can't say if this is or isn't cancer but it doesn't have to be.

I think you have to wait for this last biopsy result to find out more which I appreciate is unsettling, but from what I have read squamous morules can definitely be linked to hyperplasia so keep that in mind.

Perhaps the hospital switchboard could help you to track down that nurse's number, I am guessing she was a gynaecology clinical nurse specialist (CNS).

I hope you get your results back soon, in the meantime try and keep an open mind.

    Wishing you the best,

    Julia

  • Thank you.

I’ve tried to do some research but there’s very little about it including even atypical endometrial hyperplasia which is what I have too. I’ve tried to stay away too much from looking on google as it really doesn’t help as everything points to it being cancer.

it is another waiting game but hopefully I will know more soon. I’m just going to reframe from worrying as I can’t control the outcome until I have the results then action plan from that point.
