I am having monthly hormone injections. I have had 2 PSA tests in 3 months. Both have shown a rise in PSA level to a total of 3.70 from 2.04. Is this a reason for concern. Thank you.

Hello, and thanks for your post,
Without being involved in your care it is difficult to be able to advise you and we have no doctors here who can give you a second opinion.
Do talk to your own doctors who know how long you have been on your hormone treatment and more about your situation. They may want to do a further PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test to see if there are any further rises. The PSA test is a very individual thing. As you get older the PSA test does tend to rise.
We have some information about the PSA test here.
I am sorry not to be able to help more. if you would like to discuss any of this with one of the nurses on the helpline you are welcome to give us a ring.
Our helpline number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and we are here Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
All the best,
Catherine
