5 year check up for non hodgekins lymphoma

My dad has been cancer free for 4 years as per the blood tests he has been going to yearly , he went to his 5 year check up and mentioned any concerns he might have with kidneys etc they have done a biopsy of the abdomen and a Ct scan and another pet Ct contract scan a few days after this  . Is this normal procedure for 5 year check up or would they only do this if they see something on the scan ?

    It's difficult to know at this point, but it's not unusual to have a check-up just to make sure. For a future appointment, it might help you and your dad to write down any questions or concerns you have on a notepad and take them with you so the doctor can go through this with you.
