  • Hello, and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your mum. This must be a difficult time for you all.

I am sorry to hear that she is having back pain. I can understand how uncomfortable this must be for her. I can't really give an opinion as to what is causing this pain as I am not involved in her care.

There can be other reasons that may explain the pain including being immobile in bed. The doctors will be looking at other tests when they assess her including any scans or blood tests that she has had.

If your mum has a specialist nurse then you might find it helpful to discuss your worries with them.

It can be so stressful looking after someone with cancer and I do hope that you are looking after yourself.  We have a page on our website with tips which you might find helpful to look at here

If you feel that it would be helpful to ring and discuss any of this with one of the nurses on the helpline then you are very welcome to do so.

Our helpline number is Freephone 0808 800 4040. We are here Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
