My husband had emergency surgery for bowel cancer a year ago, followed by four rounds of chemo. He has a permanent stoma. Yesterday he had an appointment with the colorectal nurse, who told us that the thoracic/abdominal/bowel scan performed a week previously showed a change in one of his lungs. She asked him if he had recently had a chest infection or covid, which he has had - two severe chest infections in January/February and covid in April. The teams are meeting on Friday to discuss his scan results and will call us on Friday afternoon with their conclusions. The cancer was removed entirely with surgery, but chemo was recommended as one out of 39 lymph nodes had evidence of cancer. We are very concerned in case the change in his lung might be cancer. He has also had a sore hip for two weeks, although he has had a big bruise where the pain is, and remembers bumping it quite badly before the bruise appeared, but I've heard of hip pain being a sign of lung cancer. I have a long standing severe health anxiety, which is obviously made much worse by the latest developments. Any reassurance would be very welcome please! Thank you in anticipation!
