Hi. Have you heard if there are shortages in the UK of Letrazole? Went to Boots to pick up my prescription and they say both their suppliers are out of stock.
Concerned this may impact on my cancer defense if there is a break.
Finally got my prescription. What a relief. So, this took 6 calls to pharmacies in Dorchester and three in Weymouth to get there. Breast nurses rang to say there wasn't an issue, they've just received a delivery. I have explained the situation as they need to be aware as I'm not the only one in Dorset to be prescribed this drug which they noted. Sometimes feel you are an inconvenience once chemo /hospital treatment finished and move to another Trust. Perhaps I'm a bit mardy?
I had an email back from Accord Healthcare today. They said that Letrozole has just come back into stock so it should be hitting the wholesalers within the next couple of days. It will then be up to the pharmacies to place some orders for it.
Hopefully you will be able to get some going forward but if not just let me know and I'll look into it again. This goes for any other medication that you or anyone else is struggling to obtain. :)
Hi, my pharmacy in Scotland has been trying to get hold of my second box of Femara for a month, they say there is a shortage. Down to my last few tablets, they have managed to get some today.
In the last year, I have had various brands.
My main concerns are the lack of information available and the anxiety for those, (and our families) that rely on these medications.
Sorry to hear there are still problems. I gave up on Boots and moved my chemist to a small independent one who sources from more than one supplier. They helped last time I had the problem last month. So I've stayed with them. Took a few calls though!
Sadly there's no explanation why suppliers are having issues. Is it a import issue or shortage of ingredients to make it? Who knows. If only we are warned about it.
Like others here, my mum has been experienced shortages and has been having to try different local pharmacies to chase available supplies which has been stressful for her. She told me this morning that the pharmacist told her that the medicine is supplied from Germany and available stock is being impacted by (sorry to mention it) Brexit. I feel the issue needs raising more widely as she, like many others, relies on this medicine and is being told there is very little supply.
