Purple bruise

Hi,

I’ve noticed a reddish/purple bruise the size of a 50p coin under my breast. It doesn’t hurt but looks rather painful to the naked eye. I’ve tried calling my GP multiple times, but getting through seems to be almost impossible to book a consultation. Is this any cause for concern? Im not sure how long I’ve had it, as I’ve only just noticed it recently when lifting up my breast to shower.

it’s definitely worth a check at gp any changes outside or inside of breasts should be checked for sure

Hello, and thanks for your post,

We would always advise someone to get symptoms checked out if they don't seem to be going away. The marks on your breast may be from clothes or a tight-fitting bra but if you have concerns then it is always a good idea to have it looked at.

Your GP can perform a breast examination and if they feel that they need to investigate it further they can refer you to a breast clinic.
