Had colposcopy with a biopsy taken came back cin 3 then had Leetz treatment two weeks later wich has now come back with nothing found all normal has anyone else experienced this
You have posted on the ask the nurses section of the forum so as you are asking for others who have been through similar to get back to you do think about posting on another feed as well.
The treatment LLetz is usually successful in removing abnormal cells from their cervix and many people will find the abnormal cells and HPV to have cleared at their follow up appointment.
This is good news and you will now be returned to the cervical screening programme for routine follow up.
Hi thanks for reply was just abit confused as my punch biopsy came back cin 3 then Lleetz two weeks later came back with results of nothing there at all no abnormalities removed so just hoping the punch biopsy removed the small amount of abnormalities that was there for the leetz to have found nothing
I'm afraid no one is going to be able to say why the LLETZ tissue samples were clear. As you say there is a possible chance that the biopsy taken to confirm the type of abnormal cells removed the abnormalcells at the same time.
Of course I am sure they will proceed with another follow up appointment at 6 months to check that the cervix remains clear.
Do speak to the colposcopy unit directly if you want to talk through what has happened, they are best placed to explain what has happened.
