  • Hi

I think it depends on results etc on how quickly you are seen. If anything comes up on pelvic ultrasound in the womb then sometimes they request you have a hysteroscopy, a small camera inserted into womb area to look around more closely and sometimes they will take some womb tissue for biopsy.

If pelvic ultrasound showed up something on ovaries or outside womb then they may request a Ct scan or MRI.

Usually if cancer is suspected it would be to he seen within 14 days.

    Good luck on Monday

  • Hi lndi,

Is that fourteen days of the scan? Does that mean it isnt cancer, it was mentioned to me there is a backlog. I read it on the ovecome web site and Mcmillan about 31 days between scan and seeing the Gynocology unit.

  • Sorry I carnt comment on whether or not they suspect cancer. Usually any cancer suspects are on a 2ww 2 week wait to see a specialist.

I was seen 13 days after scan by gynaecologist, but everyone's case is different. When I saw gynaecologist more tests were arranged to try and work out if cancer is present.

Hope you get some answers soon

  • Hello Bev, and thank you for updating us.

I know it is such a worrying time waiting for answers, but it is difficult to say what happens next.

Once you have been reviewed by the gynaecology team you will know more.

Appointments to see a specialist are not always within 31 days, this is a guideline that post covid is not always able to happen. But the appointment should come through soon.

    Take care

    Sarah.

  • Hi Sarah ,i recieved appointment four days after pelvic scan ,on the internet it says 31 days which ftom the letter to the appointnent is 31 days reading on the overcome website .i dont know if its ovarian or not i have fibroids already .just wondering if they have found something else on the scan .all symptoms well bloating after eating and before .cant eat much .only symptoms i dont have is peeing alot and back ache feel very much in the dark .even got All blood redults from my doctor to see if i could work out the ca125 ,i cant  imposdible to work out .guess i will know monday wondering if they will say ct scan .ive had ca125 and pelvic scan so far my anxirty and fibromialgia is  all over the place .

  • If you ring your GP Surgery I'm sure they'd tell you your ca125 result but if its high you might worry more before you attend your appointment although a high ca125 could actually be because of Fibroids like mine was .

  • Hi jenny .my ca125 is high .i dont know what my number . Is though .it all started 2nd may had cai25 five dsys after my result  after that i had pelvic ultra  sound .four days ater  on the 24th may got letter for appointment  monday the 26th june . No idea if its cancer or not as i already have fibroids .will i get a ct scan .and if i did have csncer would i have been seen earlier than 31 days  appologise for my writting lost my glasses squinting as i write .

  • Hi mine was a little different to yours I had an elevated ca125  ,I got an appointment at the hospital within 2 weeks but I didn't know what to expect as it didn't say ,when I arrived I had the ultrasound then I was taken to another room where I was informed they would do a Hysteroscopy there and then ,I was a bit shocked at it happening so fast but ,the staff were all amazing and reassuring ,I was so scared at what they would find but after it was over they said they couldn't see anything nasty ,they removed a polyp / fibroid and some biopsies which I had to wait for around 2 weeks to be absolutely certain all was good but to be fair they would tell you there and then if they find anything so I felt so relieved ,then I got a letter confirming the biopsies and polyp etc were all fine ,so I think you will probs have a hysteroscopy .

  • Is that a transvaginal ? I refused it at pelvic ultra sound ,its too psunful i had one when i was diagnosed with fibroids .will they do a ct scan ?

  • Yes a transvaginal ultrasound .I didn't have a ct scan just the ultrasound and hysteroscopy but its not to say it will be the same for you ,If you have any more queries just ask someone else might have a different experience ,let us know how you get on someone is always here to help x
