Hard Lump on Cheek

Hi there.

I’m panicking as I have recently developed a hard lump on my left cheek. It does not float and moves with the skin. There is no skin discolouration and nothing obvious in terms of anything else. The side of my face is very pronounced and everything online points to cancer as it’s hard, hardly moves, no obvious skin condition.

I called 111 in the hopes of getting to see a GP (I don’t care about the wait) and he said “there was nothing on his system to allow it”.

If it is cancerous which I believe it is I cannot just wait two days until Monday in case it spreads elsewhere

many thanks,

Ben

  • Hello Ben, and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you have been anxious about this lump on your cheek.

Try not to jump to any conclusions as there are other causes for lumps to occur other than cancer but we can't diagnose you. Hopefully, you will have been able to make an appointment today.

Many people do complain of lumps in different parts of their body and the vast majority are not diagnosed with cancer.

Hopefully, you will be seen soon.

    All the best,

    Catherine
