Desperate 16 years old

Hello everyone, i am 16 years old nearly 17 and im very worried about my health. I believe that I might have breast cancer (no family history). I have one inverted nipple( left breast) , stain on my left breast so a change in colour, nipple white discharge from both sides . I have no pain or cannot identity any lumps.
I also have other symptoms like dizziness, unclear vision, lower belly pain(not related to period) , frequently use the toilet and I sleep a lot.

im really concerned, please tell me what you think about my symptoms

  • Hello there

I am sorry you are so worried about your health. Unfortunately no one here can tell you what the matter is and it is important you speak to your mum or dad or another trusted adult about your symptoms.

If you are concerned it would be best if an appointment is booked to see your GP. It is possible to ask for a female doctor who can assess you and arrange some more tests if needed.

Breast cancer is virtually unheard of in someone of your age, so there is likely to be a far less serious reason for your symptoms.

During the teenage years and into early adulthood the body goes through so many changes and many of these are normal as you grow and develop. Nipple discharge when the nipple is squeezed is not unusual for some people, especially if it is white in colour and from both breasts. Some women have inverted nipples and this is normal for them and also discoloration on the skin may just be skin pigmentation.

Given your age I assume you are in the middle of exams at the moment. Undergoing the pressure of exams can bring a great deal of stress and strain and this in turn can trigger a physical response. Excessive tiredness, tummy ache and needing to go to the toilet more at times like this aren't unusual. So hopefully these will pass soon.

If you haven't recently had your eyes tested by an optician then this would be worth doing, in case you need glasses.

Do make sure you are looking after yourself by eating a healthy balanced diet of breakfast lunch and dinner, with healthy snacks in between to keep you going. Drink plenty of water, get some fresh air and exercise and go to sleep at a reasonable time.

As I say speak to someone close to you soon to see what they have to say and then if necessary see your doctor too.

Hope you are feeling better soon

    Take care

    Naomi
