Cervical Cancer in just 3 years?

Hi everyone.

I met my girlfriend (now fiancée) about 3 and a half years ago we have one beautiful baby. Months into the relationship, I was told I had genital warts which I know predates the relationship.

2 years later, my girlfriend is pregnant and she starts noticing small warts too. They wouldn’t do a smear test until 3 months after giving birth.

Fast forward and she is told she has high grade changes

She had her colposcopy on Monday and the nurse took 3 biopsies. She also showed her on the screen and was shown a white line on the cervix and told my partner that they “look cancerous”

I’m so ill with worry that I’m in a constant state of nausea. I feel totally responsible and we have a 6 month old baby. I can’t lose my soulmate.

A couple of questions:

1. I’d read that HPV takes years to develop into cancer. Could this have all happened in 2-3 years?

2. What would the white line be indicative of?

Thank you in advance.
