Dexamethasone

Hi - I take 2 tablets per day for 3 days post chemo. I’m on 2mg dose.  But I’m one tablet short in the box so my last tablet would be tomorrow morning  not lunchtime.

is that a problem? I’d prefer not to go up to the hospital on a hot day!

any advice great! I can’t get through to the hospital helpline

  • Hello Rachel

I just wanted to let you know that our nurse team doesn't work weekends so they won't be able to respond to your post until Monday at the earliest.

If you're struggling to get through to the hospital helpline then maybe you could give NHS 111 a call to ask for some advice.

I hope that you're able to get some clarity.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello, and thanks for your post,

I am sorry that we have not been able to respond sooner and hopefully, you will have been able to sort out your medication by now.

As we are unsure what tablets these are and are not involved in your care it is difficult to advise you. They may have been anti-sickness tablets that you were taking post-chemotherapy.

If the pharmacy at the hospital were open in future you could always try and ring them if you were unable to get hold of the helpline nurses at your hospital if it was a question about your medication.

If you would like to ring and chat with one of the helpline nurses about anything else then you are very welcome to do so.

We are here Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm and our nu7mber is freephone 0808 800 4040.

    All the best,

    Catherine
