so I had my first chemo last week and now I have just had a phone call with an appointment to see the doctor I'm just wondering if this is normal practice as I'm worrying that it's going to be bad news of some sort.
My wife saw a good few doctors here and there during her treatment, and all of those appointments was simply to allow the specialists to touch base and see how things were. Sometimes they'd call, sometimes it was an appointment. Probably just to see how you are to be honest.

I agree that the doctor probably wants to see how you are coping with your chemotherapy. It's quite common to see the doctor from time to time during your treatment.
