Over 4 months ago I found two lumps in base of daughters neck
Hi Misskp and thanks for posting.
Lumps in the neck can often turn out to be lymph nodes. There can be lots of different causes for these nodes to become swollen including teething, having a cold or an upset tummy. They can stay enlarged for weeks or months, sometimes they never return to their original size.
It would be unusual for the lymph nodes to be a sign of cancer in a young child, but if you are still worried please get in touch with your GP who will be able to examine your baby and hopefully put your mind at rest.
Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Take care,
Rachel

Hi this was the Report given. Would they know by the scan if it was a cyst or just some extra veins? Could cancer ever be described like this? thanks for any information . My gp tried to refer her to the children’s hospital for further investigation, but was told that the hopsital where she had the scan, gets it wrong all the time because there not predations who carried the scan out
There is a well-defined oval-shaped isoechoic soft tissue
lesion noted in the left upper chest measuring approximately 25 × 32 the mm in diameter and on Doppler applications shows increased vascularity.
This is not compressible under the probe.
The exact nature of this lesion is uncertain and hence suggested further referral to a paediatric consultant for management.

Hello there and thanks for the post
I am sorry to hear about your child's situation and appreciate this must be a worrying time for you.
Unfortunately no one here can interpret this ultrasound report and it is best to talk this through with the GP. It sounds like further tests or a repeat of the scan is needed ( by a different hospital perhaps) so do ask about this and what needs to happen next.
I hope you know more soon and that everything will be okay.
