most breast clinics do the mammogram ultrasound and biopsy same day most are one stop clinics to save you going to future appointments. 
my experience at the breast clinic was the same but in my case I was told the lump looked suspicious but only way to be100 percent sure were results 7 days later for me it was bad news , I think they sort of can see from the tests if it's good or bad news and try and prepare you so it's not such a shock .

my diagnosis was last July I'm fully back to myseif now it was a shock but breast cancer is so treatable these days .

Thankyou for the reply, yes this what the nurse said it looks suspicious,  it was the consultant that was going on about chemo and different stuff, I am prepared for the news, they have booked me a appointment after I come of holiday so they will have hadvthe results and done the mdt meeting. I got diagnosed with endrometrial cancer in 2021 and hated the 10 day wait after being told so decided to pop it in a box and atleast when I go back I will know the plan x 

Yes times agree times have changed, I had a radical  hysterctomy done by a robot minimal cuts, .xx

it's a horrible time waiting bless you my results were 7 days later i nearky lost the plot 

but I asked outright do you think it is breast cancer and the look was enough the room was quiet I just knew there and then but I never felt a lump I felt a heaviness and went out of paranoia as my freind was diagnosed lucky I went .

Yes I agree the look is enough, I am waiting till I come off my hols x will be over the waiting period. I had a radical hysterctomy and radiotherapy after it appears that my tumour tested for lynch syndrome, cancer loves us !! , so no suprise it's back,  was just hopefully for a little more time before it reared its head. I am not allowed any hormone treatment at all as estrogen based cancer last time and presume the same this time.  Not sure what they will do. If I had my way they would do a double and take the 2 . This would stop it from coming back there . X

wise decision go on your holidays enjoy yourself and to be fair it may come back ok so no point in not going away and sitting in limbo . 

I had lunpectomy and full nice clearance 30 nodes in left I asked for a double masectomy but was refused . I think it's the best option to be honest .

I take tamoxifen now on mo th 7 of 5 years or maybe 10 

I hope you are feeling ok though , but I feel once we had a diagnosis it never goes away always checking that it could be lurking elsewhere it's evil . 

Just spoke to the lovely mcmillan nurse, she said the same, go on holiday, deal with it when u get back.  I will push for a double as will not be able to tamoxifen as hormone based and that is what gives people with lynch syndrome cancer, not sure what they will do with me. X

I'm sure they will get you sorted they have so many options these days I never knew that about lynch syndrome I never heard of it , it's always good to no these things on these chats find new info all the time . 
since my treatment finished nov I have lived totally different to pre cancer I now live life to the full having a ball wor no regrets as I feel live each day now lije it's my last as we can't do anything about it  .

I don't think you are dim, far from it, this must have been a very overwhelming experience for you.

The biopsy result is the definitive way to know if this is cancer. But, it looks like the breast team might be thinking (based on the results of the scans you had) that this could be cancer.

Getting the result back will confirm if this is cancer. Until then I think it is normal to be worried.
