Hello Sawyer7 and thanks for posting,
Most colonoscopies are performed using sedation, so I expect you will be offered it too.
After the examination, you should be told what was seen visually from looking inside the bowel. If any biopsies are taken you would need to wait for the results to get the full picture - how long these take to come back can vary, it might be a couple of weeks. But overall the endoscopist usually gives you a general impression of what they think.
I think the colonoscopy procedure is usually 30-45 minutes and people often stay in the endoscopy clinic for an hour or two afterward to be sure they are ok. If you have sedation, the hospital tells you not to drive home and to arrange for someone to collect you.
If you haven't seen it already, the NHS website has more information about colonoscopies at this link.
When your appointment is sent out they usually send instructions to tell you how to prepare and what to expect.
