Hello, 

I had a brain and spine MRI, then I recieved a letter in the post for a Second MRI with contrast for head that is coming soon. Now I am seeing a neurosurgeon within the next two weeks before my second scan, however no one is telling me why. I find it both confusing and distressing. My anexity is telling me to run away from it all and to not go see the neurosugeon. I just do not have a clue what it is about and I have asked to recieve no anwsers. 

anybody know if I should be worried? why would I see a neurosurgeon before my second scan?

    I can understand you asking, but I am afraid I don't know why this neurosurgical appointment has been arranged. I am sorry that no one else can give you an answer, most probably only the neurosurgeon can, so the best thing to do is to hear what they have to say.   

    I think that not knowing can often create anxiety so inevitably any situation like this is unsettling, to say the least. Try and keep an open mind and resist anticipating what the reason is. And have a plan to try and cope with the uncertainty until you are seen. Engaging in distracting activities and doing things that are calming and help you to relax a bit are worth trying.

    Hello,

    turns out the GP had a letter from the centre that they decided not to share with me till i made an appointment to speak with a Doctor. it explains i have a protrusion in my C4/5 spine and pineal cysts in my brain hence why i am seeing the neurosugeon. the letter is from the nurologist that requested for the GP to share this information with and also stated that he doesnt believe there is anything to worry about however he is not an expert in this area and wishes for another individual whom is can have a look.

    I am glad you have been given some more information and that the neurologist doesn't think there is anything to worry about.
