We can't diagnose anyone on the forum and if your symptoms continue then do go back and talk it through with your GP. That is what they are there for so don't think that you are bothering them if you are worried.

In the meantime whilst you wait for your appointment you may consider having a look at your diet and whether this has an effect on your bowels. Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and enough fibre in our diet is so important in maintaining a healthy gut and most of the time we don't eat enough.

It is also important to try and be as mobile as possible as this helps the bowels to work more effectively as well as drinking at least 2 litres of fluid a day.

You could keep a food diary to monitor what your eating to see if there are any triggers that cause your symptoms.

The NHS have produced some information called Eatwell which is quite a useful guide to what we should be eating. You can see it here

Hello and thanks for getting back to us, 

GPs are there to medically assess unexplained symptoms.  I think people often feel they need to work it out themselves beforehand and only get an appointment if something serious is the matter, but not being doctors how can anyone know?  Even if nothing much is wrong, seeing the GP isn't a waste of time because there is no other way to be sure and put your mind at rest.  I hope you can get an appointment easily.
