I am sorry to hear you needed surgery earlier this year.
Recovery times will vary between patients but most people after a nephrectomy (kidney removal) are back to normal after a couple of months. Pain and swelling isn't common after this length of time.
There could be a number of different reasons for the symptoms you are experiencing therefore it is important you speak to your GP so they can assess you properly.
