‘Mass’ reducing after a biopsy?

Has anyone ever heard of this? Google doesn't seem to have.

I had a biopsy Friday, and immediately felt surprisingly good afterwards. Since then I've felt progressively a bit better, and today I have to say can't feel anything, where previously I felt quite a bit of discomfort in my abdomen.

I spoke to my sister, who has lymphoma, and she said her lump reduced in size by half after the biopsy. She has the scans to prove it.

is this a known thing?

  • Hello Memarkiam and thanks for posting,

I am sorry to learn that you are having tests and appreciate that waiting for results is unsettling.

I can understand you asking us, but I'm afraid I haven't come across a similar account to yours and don't know if this type of biopsy reaction is a known thing in situations like this. I expect your doctors will be interested when you have the chance to tell them and they may be able to explain more.

I am glad that you are feeling a bit better and hope you know more about your situation soon.

Please give us a ring if you want to talk anything over. Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and we are here weekdays from 9-5.

    Wishing you the  best,

    Julia
