I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis of breast cancer and I can appreciate you want to more about why you are having an MRI scan.

Having any test or investigation can be worrying, The MRI scan will give more information about the cancer.  For breast cancer it can be done to find out more about the size of the cancer and to look at the lymph nodes near the breast and under the arm.  Knowing this will help plan your treatment. It can also be done if someone has specific symptoms , to find out more about what is causing them. 

Because I am not involved in your care I cannot tell you exactly why you are having an MRI scan but It is not unusual for anyone with breast cancer to have one done. Your breast team will be able to tell you more about why they want you to have it.

I think Mri  is standard it doesn't mean it's deffo spread .

mine was grade 1 at start but then after operation ect changed to grade 2 mine was also early stage non agressive , I don't think unitil after your operation and node biopsy that they can give accurate details but it doesn't jump from where you are now to life threatening so don't worry about that part .

also my scans show no lymph involvement however after my lunpectomy and node biopsy I had a teeny trace in one sentil node but it didn't show until I had my results after my operation so things do change sometimes for better  but for me it wasn't good news's as I had to then go on to have another operation removing 30 nodes in my arm which wasn't told to me at the start which then came back fully cancer free so it's a bumpy ride up and down for sure but I'm fully back to my crazy life now like it never happened my diagnosis was July 22

had MRI today with contrast - feel sick as a dog and totally drained, not sure if it's the procedure or the trauma of it all. I'm never Ill or need hospital etc and I really appreciate how quick things are being acted on but mentally I'm struggling and feel so drained, I'm worrying this is only the beginning :( x
