I think things like this can vary, ultrasound images aren't always straightforward to interpret so it could depend on what is seen during the examination. Sometimes the sonographer might want to wait for the scan image to be reported by a specialist in reading scans before passing any comment, but when they can, they often say something.  

Try, if you can, to keep an open mind about this lump, most lumps aren't caused by cancer and hopefully there will be another explanation.
