Vit B12 low

Cancer free on Letrazole, why would my blood test show low vit B 12? Not had chemo or radiotherapy.I eat a varied diet, loads of fish chicken fruit veg milk & eggs. In disbelief.!Is there any truth in too much B12 contributing to colon cancer. Worried.

Hello and thanks for posting,
There are several reasons for low B12 levels, and these levels can take years to decline slowly, as we age.
The NHS website has useful information on this and the treatment,

Your GP should be able to advise you on whether a B12 injection, or supplementation will be necessary.

Thankyou Vanda.checked out the Web site mentioned & found proton pump inhibitor & I am in the age group over 60 taking Omeprazole for acid reflux. Mind a little easier now.
