Terrible leg pain after Taxol Carbo

Good morning. I am on day 7 cycle 3 of Taxol Carbo. Any tips for managing leg cramps and tenderness which has been painful again for the past 4 days. Started Thursday evening on Day 3 again. And legs weak and shuffling like Mrs Overall. Dexamethasone finished on Friday morning which hasn't helped either. Keeping me awake.

Hi, sorry to hear you are experiencing cramps and pain with this treatment. Have you reported it to your oncology team? They may be able to prescribe something to help. In the meantime you could try paracetamol or cocodamol? I hope you manage to get it sorted as I can imagine it's making you miserable. Take care, Amy x

Hi Amy. Finally better today. The Oncologist blamed the Taxol at my last review so will talk about pain management again next time.

Good morning and thanks for posting
I am sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing for a few days after each chemotherapy cycle.
Unfortunately as you say this pain is a known side effect from the taxol that can be really unpleasant. Pain medications is the main management for this when it happens. So do as another forum member has said and speak with your specialist doctor so they can prescribe adequate pain relief when needed.

The pain has now subsided, but I will speak again to the team at my next chemo review.
