I'm sorry to hear about your leg and can understand this must be a worry for you.

Unfortunately no one here can say what this might be or whether you should choose to have tests carried out privately.

I appreciate it can be difficult to get GP appointments but it seems your GP has already seen this and has concerns so I assume they may have asked to see you again and perhaps at the same time have referred you to a skin specialist (dermatologist) for a further assessment and more tests. If something serious as a cancer is suspected then patients are generally fast tracked on a 2 week pathway.

You need to speak to your GP practice to let them know that the antibiotics aren't helping and ask if you can be seen again.  At the same time you can also ask if you have been referred to the hospital.

I hope you know more soon and that everything turns out okay for you.
