Mixture of medications

Hi, I'm taking ribociclib and letrozole, I also take duloxetine and Adcal tablets. I had to stop taking amitriptyline as it would interfere with the ribociclib (hospital said it would be ok but my gp said absolutely not!) I'm not sure if it's the fact I came of amitriptyline too quick or the fact I take all these drugs of a night time that I can't sleep! It's not over worry, when I took amitriptyline I slept so well. Should I be taking them all together?
Last night I had really bad stomach ache and wasn't sure if the anti sickness tablet I took (cyclizine) mid evening caused it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Duloxetine tablets are best taken in the morning, as they can cause difficulty in sleeping. Letrozole can also cause difficulty in sleeping, as can ribociclib.

Adcal is best taken twice a day, morning and evening too. Unfortunately, Amitriptyline does interact with many medications. Maybe try and consider other approaches to help aid sleep. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol might help to a degree. There are sleep Apps, and listening to relaxing music or talk radio via headphones, instead of television can help. Taking a bath before bed, and the use of aromatherapy oils such as lavender can aid sleep.

We can't advise specifically about medications, so maybe ask your hospital pharmacist how best to space out your medications through the day, to see whether this might help.

    Best wishes,

    Vanda

  • Thanks. Maybe I need to take them if a morning then? I have stopped the duloxetine, with taking ribociclib as a new drug I didn't know which one was causing issues. Now I've stopped the duloxetine I don't feel sick and don't have weird dreams!
    Thanks for replying.
