I'm panicking I found a ulcer like lump on my vulva at the end of January- it looks like a dark patch with a paler Centre and quite defined edges- sort of purplish in culour and feels a bit lumpy. It's painless (maybe the tiniest bit sensitive if I touch it ) and no other relevant symptoms except possibly recurrent thrush end of last year which may be unrelated.  
I went to the doctor today and she has referred me to gynaecology, she said she's not overly worried but she seemed quite concerned and she said it looks unusual and feels lumpy underneath. 
she said it's an urgent referral as a normal referral would take a year but she said an urgent referral is up to 2 months is that normal?  I'm in scotland. 
I'm panicking  I'm 34 and have small children.  Is it normal for a referral to take so long?  Is there anything it could be that isn't worrying?
