Hi, I imagine it means you'll have two infusions (two cycles of chemo) three weeks apart. Each cycle is counted as 21 days, so you'll have your chemo on days 1 and 22, with the second cycle ending on day 42. Hope that makes sense. Wishing you well with your treatment xx
Hello,
Chemotherapy is divided up into cycles. This means that you have one chemotherapy drug or a combination of drugs then a rest to allow your body to recover. This will involve a visit to hospital to be treated on day one of the first week. Sometimes there may be other visits during the following three weeks for further chemotherapy, or you may get some tablets to take at home. Then after the three weeks is up it starts again, in your case for the second cycle.
The exact pattern can vary depending on which type of chemotherapy you need. Your doctor or the staff in the chemotherapy unit should give you written information about how and when your chemotherapy will be given. Do give our nurses a call if you want to discuss it with us on freephone 0808 800 4040 we are open 9 to 5 Monday to Friday
I hope that is helpful
