Lumps cause a lot of anxiety, but the majority turn out to be harmless. It's not possible to say what your neck lump may be due to. Only a doctor can make a medical assessment so the best thing to do if the lump doesn't settle down over the next week or two is to make an appointment to see your doctor.  They will examine you and advise if anything needs to be done.
