I’m sorry you are worried about a swollen neck lymph glands/lump. I can appreciate that unexplained symptoms can be a worry and especially for anyone with health anxiety, but most of the time a lump won't be caused by anything as serious as cancer. However, it is worth getting this checked out just to sure, so it would be a good idea to make an appointment to see your GP.

Doctors are experienced at assessing symptoms and if they have concerns or are unsure about what the matter is they may run some further tests like an ultrasound, or refer you to see a hospital specialist if necessary.

You can read more about lumps here on the NHS website but generally lymph nodes are normally swollen because of a recent viral or bacterial infection and can sometimes be felt for several months after the infection has cleared.

Hi thanks for replying I was nervous of phoning my gp but I am just off the phone with them their and I have an appointment booked for the 18th of April so just under 3 weeks away I will let you know how I get on at the time  I am very nervous 

Hi just a quick update am just out seeing a doctor and I had noticed a few more lumps before I got there but I went in he had a look and told me it's most probably just swollen lymph nodes. He did say to book a blood test so I have that next Friday and then I have to book another appointment in 3 weeks to see him again. Him saying that has helped my anxiety a little as he is a medical professional so I will write again when my two other appointments are and how they go but if anyone doctors on here think that they are most likely nothing a reply would be great thanks
