I have an itchy mole that is going darker! Help

Hi everyone. Please help, I've always had a raised mole ever since I was small, but the past 3-4 days I've noticed it gets itchy every now and then. It's also gone very ruff and has some slightly darker patches around the edge but I'm not sure if they have always been there! I'm freaking out as it's never been like this before and I'm looking up on the web and seeing all these things it could be! 
 

Can it be normal for it to go ruff and itchy and have dark edge's...

    Most moles don't develop into skin cancer but there are certain things to look out for in moles that we need to report to the doctor. Again, they don't necessarily mean skin cancer however they do need to be properly assessed just to be on the safe side. GP's are very experienced at looking at skin conditions and are able to decide if someone needs further tests.

    There is an ABCDE checklist that can be good to know about which you can take a look at on our website at this link.
