Tonsil cancer??

Hi 

I went to the drs yesterday regarding a lump on my tonsil.. one of them is considerably bigger than the other. 
 

they have advised it's nothing to worry about and sometimes tonsils are bigger than the other. 
 

would you be happy with this response? 

 

 

im desperately worried. 
 

I had pain a few days ago but that seems to have eased but the lump still remains.

    It's not uncommon for people to have one tonsil bigger than the other.Some people are prone to tonsil symptoms and your GP has advised you that everything seems to be okay at the moment.

    However, if things haven’t settled down in the next couple of weeks and you are still worried, it’s perfectly reasonable to go back and discuss your concerns with your GP again

    It may help you to know that tonsil cancer is rare, but when it does occur if usually affects people over the age of 60.
