Pea size hard lumps in groin area, lumps on testicles

hi

im currently suffering with itchy rash in groin area, it flairs up from time to time but just seems to be there constantly now. More recently I have discovered pea size hard lumps both sides of my groin area, painful to the touch.

A longer issue dating back to 2016 is lumps on my testicles. It all started in 2016 when I developed pain in my left leg from knee to foot, extremely painful, red and felt like it was going to burst open. Over 7 weeks of my gp miss diagnosing the clott, which part travelled to my left lung. Everybody told me it was clott but gp would not have it, sent me for x Ray ?

It was during this time 3 weeks in I found a lump in left testicle, finally got ultra sound which sain there was a cyst on my right testicle. Over the years it’s got larger and more painful, I now have another large cyst on left side. While I’m told these aren’t dangerous it provents me from checking if anything else is there, plus this is making my life a misery. Quality of life is terrible, I don’t go anywhere, get very depressed and can’t be bothered. I have always been aware of cancer as my father died aged 52 when I was 12, three of his brothers and a sister also died of cancer so I have always had it in my mind.

I went on list to have cyst removed years ago, thought it was happening as I had pre op chat. Then towards end of pandemic I got call saying consultant would contact me. The call I got just seem to be to persuade me to get off list as I was suddenly told it was an extremely dangerous op which may not stop pain. I said I still wanted op and phone went down and heard nothing since. Now I have the lumps in my groin and rash I’m severely depressed and don’t want to visit my gp after clott mess up as specialist contacted him over 7 week delay in diagnosing clott which I don’t think he took well. I don’t feel comfortable going there now not that you could get in. If it wasn’t for a young locum being on clott May not have been sorted, I thought I was dying when it went to my lung as I couldn’t breath, talking was difficult etc.

any advice would be welcome I’ve looked online but it’s more confusing.

kind regards Bren

  • Hello there Bren

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you have and the issues you have had over the past few years, this must be very difficult for you.

Unfortunately there is no one here who can diagnose or say what the problem may be as there are so many different things that could be going on.

I appreciate the missed diagnosis of a DVT has left you with little trust in that GP however I assume there must be other GP's at the practice who could see you instead. It is important you get these things checked out and assessed properly so that the most appropriate tests or treatment can be given, whatever the cause may be.

Most of the time symptoms are the result of something far less serious than a cancer, however I can understand how losing so many of your family members to cancer brings this to the forefront of your mind.

If you can't face calling the surgery right now you may prefer to speak to a pharmacist to see if they can advise you or call NHS111 for advice, although taking these routes may also lead you back to contacting your own GP surgery. You also have the option of switching GP surgeries if you prefer and how you can do this here.

I hope you are able to be seen soon and get some answers for these symptoms.

    Take care

    Naomi
